Internationally renowned singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Teena Marie, the “Ivory Queen of Soul,” presents an all-new 16-song set showing she hasn’t lost one bit of her edge.
The new album Congo Square celebrates her 30th anniversary as a recording artist and marks her debut for the LEGENDARY Stax Record label.

Teena penned and produced all sixteen tracks on Congo Square, the title of which is a reference to the sacred area of The French Quarter in New Orleans. Like most of her classic albums, Congo Square cruises smoothly from southern soul and smokey jazz to serious dance floor funk.
One of the most admired and influential r&b of her generation, Teena Marie also was a pioneer in helping bring hip-hop to the mainstream, she has been covered by, sampled by, and/or collaborated with such artists as JADA KISS, EVE, LUDACRIS,THE FUGEES, SNOOP DOGG, NE-YO, MISSY ELLIOTT, ROMEO, and many, many more.
