Gordon Mac leaves Colourful Radio to launch new venture
Gordon Mac, innovative and successful entrepreneur and Founder of Kiss FM, announces his departure from Colourful Radio to launch a new venture, Mi-Soul, which will provide access to everything related to Soul music on every broadcast platform which is scheduled to go live by the end of this year.
Following two years of research, Gordon, working with his business partner Martin Strivens (ex Commercial Director of Kiss FM), and a team that includes Deanna Hallett, Sháá Wasmund, Roy Marsh, Chris Phillips and Jon Mansfield, is developing a Soul and Dance community that will provide ‘Everything Soul Everywhere’.
Commenting on his new venture, Gordon said: “I have not been so excited about the opportunity to create a multi platform Soul brand dedicated to Soul and Dance fans everywhere, since the deregulation of broadcast media in the late 1980s which gave birth to Kiss FM”.
Since leaving Kiss in 1998, Gordon has maintained his passion for music and, while running his successful Bar and Restaurant he kept his ‘toe in the water’ with a weekly show on Choice before taking the reins at Colourful Radio as Station Manager to help establish the brand over the last three years.
Having identified this gap in the market, it will be Gordon’s legendary tenacity, guts and drive, together with the ability to create a successful product from scratch, that will ensure the success of the new venture.
Gordon Mac, also known as the ‘Godfather of Dance Music’, was both the first person to launch a pirate radio station which subsequently became legal, and the youngest Managing Director of a radio station company (29). His lasting legacy is the creation the Kiss FM brand.

TheLondonstation achieved the target of 1million listeners a week, by the end of its second year, and when sold in 2006 was valued at £46m.
