Soul Cuts rave about new BEVERLY KNIGHT remix

August 25, 2011

Soul Cuts have posted a brilliant blog raving about Tomo’s remix for Beverley Knight’s Apparently Nothin’ (released Monday).

Under the headline “This New Beverley Knight Remix Is Definitely Something”, they write:

“One of the more interesting covers on the album was Apparently Nothin’, originally on the undisputed classic Road to Freedom album by The Young Disciples. Bev’s take, with new Hidden Beach vocalist Glenn Scott, mixed things up a little with more than a hint of D’Angelo’s classic Left & Right. With the cut about to be released as a single, soul remix supremo, Neil Thomson has had a go at it under his Regrooved banner and created a blissed out soulcut of the highest order, giving the track a languid, yet fresh, vibe that surpasses Bev’s original. While the album take will be of some interest to the serious soul consumer, this Regrooved version deserves the connoisseur’s undivided attention.”
