 About the artists performing:

♥ Lynda Phoenix has a diversity of sound; global influences via soul, jazz, funk and driven by upbeat vocals and bumpin’ afro beats. Her involvement in the London underground scene spans over two decades which gives credence to her educated selection of beats.  Over the years she has played alongside a diverse range of artists includes Louie Vega, Atjazz, Kenny Dope, Jose Carretas, Kaidi Tatham, Robert Owens, Reel People, Ian Friday, Arnold Jarvis, DJ Disciple, Norman Jay, Simbad to name but a few.  Lynda Phoenix is also a well known figure head in the digital music industry. Previously managing download stores for Clickgroove, Xpressbeats and DJ Mag, she currently works as digital manager for leading house label Defected Records.

♥ Cyndi is from the Handson family; manVSwife, Hands On Music and United80 aka Hands On Music.  We have always taken the Hands On approach to music... We sell music and merchandise from quality independent music labels that are in the business of music not the music business.  Find them located at boutique United80, Brixton, SW9 8PS.

When she's not busying herself within the fashionista end of music Cyndi can also be found compiling and selecting at some of the finest events around town as part of DJ’s manVSwife... We still haven't become jaded selecting tunes for the people. You can find us sometimes DJing outisde our store at our late night openings, curating bespoke soundtracks for fashion and art projects or at our own residencies.

♥ Josey ReBelle holds down the 03:00-05:00am Friday night slot on London's Rinse FM with an imbued poise and casual flippancy totally unphased by her male peers sometimes near indifference of her presence - this gal knows how to get the party grooving with the deadliest arsenal of house (Chicago/acid/deep), Detroit techno, boogie, electro, funk, garage, hardcore and jungle, and has held down several monthly residencies at London’s musical mecca Plastic People, including its Nonsense, Gullyver and DeckQueenz club nights, as well as being a regular at Eglo, Standard Place, Boiler Room and Bounty events.

♥ Sista Stroke has her musical roots deeply rooted, and span across the boundaries of genre and geography.  She is a child of the b-boy generation whose journey though life has included living in Houston, San Antonio, Panama, McLean (VA), most recently Chicago, with a stop over in Los Angeles, and now London.  Previously, as part of the Rebel Crew she played styles ranging with a determination that soon got her noticed.  She has been booked to open for various acts: Afrika Bambaattaa, The Executioners, Tortured Soul, King Britt, Derrick Carter, Joey Beltram, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, Method Man, Boo Williams, Mark Farina, Kaskade, and Super Jane (Lady D, Colette, Dayhota, and DJ Heather).  She herself has now progressed, becoming a headliner through consistency in her DJing and a growing discography.

As a producer, Sista Stroke has found a place musically where she can truly explore the depths of her creativity.  In 2004 she became the preeminent in-house producer/remixer for Mother Tongue and Innuendo Records.  Armed with a plethora of Underground relases she has made a name for herself; a player of House not to be overlooked.  Sista Stroke is now poised to make her mark on the industry with projects on Revolutionary Music as well as several other indie labels.  Her releases on Revolutionary Music range from House to Hip Hop to down-tempo.  Catch her on the airwaves presenting, Brick City House, every Wednesday evening at 7pm GMT, on Chicago House FM.
